Current Prescribed Burn  Projects:

A map of authorized agency-administered prescribed burns is located here.  Smaller prescribed burn projects and pile burn projects conducted by contractors and landowners are not shown on this map.

January 12-13, firefighters on the Plumas National Forest Feather River Ranger District plan to continue critical fuel reduction work in Magalia by burning up to 17 acres of large machine piles on approximately 84 acres located off the Skyway and Hollywood Drive.  If conditions remain favorable, ignitions will continue on approximately 67 acres of large machine piles in the area located north of Magalia along the Skyway between Hupp Coutolenc Road and Casierra Drive.  The unit is north of Paradise Lake on the Plumas National Forest between the communities of Magalia and Lovelock.  Pile burning will be on both sides of approximately 1 mile of Skyway, as well as two sections of Hupp Coutolenc Road south of Skyway.  A map of the project is located here and a press release from the USFS is located here.

The Amador Ranger District (USFS) will be burning up to 50 acres of piles in the Butte Meadows area, authorized for Tuesday, January 13th.

The Butte County Fire Safe Council will resume their pile burning project in Cohasset in partnership with private contractors with 6 acres authorized on Monday, January 12th and on Tuesday, January 13th.

As of January 12th, CAL FIRE crews  will also be pile burning  in south Paradise and Loafer Creek Recreation Area (Lake Oroville) .  Burn projects currently paused are those along Doe Mill Road in  Forest Ranch and on the "Phoenix" project, which is located near Hurleton, east of Oroville.
