October 15, 2009 - Cal Fire / Butte County Fire has lifted the Burn Ban for dooryard/residential burning effective at 8:00 a.m. today. Persons wanting to burn must first call the Residential Burn Line at 896-2537 or toll free 866-240-0859 for burn day status - Press Release

June 24, 2009 -  Effective as of midnight June 30, 2009, open burning of dooryard debris piles will be banned in Butte County and state responsibility areas of Plumas County - Press Release.

June 15, 2009 - The following proposed rule amendments are scheduled to be considered by the District's Governing Board of Directors on June 25, 2009: Proposed Amended Rule 1001 - Airborne Toxic Control Measure for Stationary Compression Ignition Engines Used in Agricultural Operations. The amendments are intended to provide a low use exemption for engines used for frost protection and an exemption for engines used during a drought emergency. The Staff Report provides additional information about the proposed exemptions and the basis for the proposed changes. Rule 441 - Registration Requirements and Rule 513 - Fees are also proposed for amendment as outlined in the Staff Report.

June 11, 2009, California Air Resources Board (CARB) - Notice of Portable Equipment Registration (PERP) Cancellation. Engine registrations for non-certified (Tier 0) engines will not be valid after December 31, 2009.   

June 6, 2009 - Public Notice: Wild Goose Storage, LLC (WGS, LLC) has applied for Authority to Construct Permits for the installation and operation of Two (2) Natural Gas Internal Combustion Engines powering Natural Gas Compressors with Selective Catalytic Reactor Controls and associated natural gas processing equipment, located at 2780 West Liberty Road in Gridley, CA. Pursuant to the requirements of Rule 430, New Source Review, notice has been published relating to emission reduction credits to offset the increase in the facility-wide emissions of NOx.  Staff Contact: David Lusk, Senior Air Quality Engineer.

May 6, 2009-Public Notice: Pursuant to District Rule 430, New Source Review, a preliminary decision has been made by the Air Pollution Control Officer of the Butte County Air Quality Management District (District) to conditionally approve applications filed by Ameresco Butte County LLC requesting Authority to Construct permits be issued for the installation and operation of Two (2) Landfill Gas-fired Internal Combustion Engines with associated Generator Sets and controls for electrical power production and One (1) Landfill Gas Flare for gas clean-up to be located at the Neal Road Sanitary Landfill, 1023 Neal Road, Paradise, CA. Offsets for the project are proposed to be allocated from emission reduction credits in the District's Community Bank account and applied to limit the facility's emission of Oxides of Nitrogen (NOX). Copies of the applications, proposed Authority to Construct permits and District evaluation are available for public review at the District office.
