December 27, 2011: Public Notice- The Butte County Air Quality Management District (District) Hearing Board will hold a public hearing at 3:00 p.m. on January 10, 2012 to consider petitions filed by the Air Pollution Control Officer to revoke the Permits to Operate (PTO) for failure to pay the annual permit renewal fees for the following businesses: BCJ Sand & Rock (PTO #BCJ-05-01), RJ's Painting & Equipment Repair (PTO #RJP-04-01), Sawyer's Cabinets (PTO #SAC-07-01) and SGM (PTO #SGM-81-01). November 7, 2011: PUBLIC NOTICE-The Butte County Air Quality Management District (District) Governing Board will hold a public hearing to consider adoption of proposed amendments to:
Rule 430 - State New Source Review (SNSR) to clarify definitions, calculation methods consistent with State requirements, and offset requirements for existing sources; and,
Rule 505-Title V Fees to address fee rates for Greenhouse Gas pollutants now subject to Title V permitting.
A public workshop will be held November 16, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the District Office, 629 Entler Avenue, Suite 15, Chico, CA. The Governing Board will consider the proposed amendments at a Public Hearing on December 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the City of Chico Council Chambers, 421 Main Street, Chico, CA. July 15-August 15, 2011: Request for Proposal - The District is soliciting proposals from qualified certified public accounting firms, licensed to practice in California, to conduct the annual independent audit of the District's financial transactions and to express an opinion of the fairness of the presentation of the District's financial statements and supplemental schedules.
Thursday, June 2, 2011: PUBLIC NOTICE-The Air Pollution Control Officer has made a preliminary decision to conditionally approve applications filed by Wild Goose Storage, LLC (WGS) for the addition of another natural gas compression station. May 23, 2011: Proposed amendments to Rule 431-Emission Reduction Credits and Banking will provide definitions and procedures for leasing credits from the Community Bank. Staff Report (includes Rule in Attachment A in underline/strikeout format).
May 18, 2011: PUBLIC NOTICE - The District received informal comments related to both proposed amended Rule 430 and new Rule 432. The Rules set the major modification limit at 15 tons but should be 10 tons to meet federal requirements. In addition, comments suggested adding a definition of "identical emission units" and that Rule 432 should apply to portable, temporary or replacement units that are major modifications at major sources. The District is presenting these changes to the Board in the Board report to be released May 19, 2011 with the intent of adopting these changes into the final Rules. April 25, 2011: PUBLIC NOTICE: The Butte County Air Quality Management District (District) has proposed modifications to Regulation IV-PERMITS, including amendments to Rule 430-New Source Review and the concurrent repeal of existing Rule 400-Permit Requirements, Rule 401-Standards for Granting Applications, and Rule 432-Federal Major Modifications and proposed adoption of new Rule 400-Permit Requirements, Rule 401-Permit Exemptions, and Rule 432-Federal New Source Review.

July 29, 2010 - NOTICE: The Governing Board of the Butte County Air Quality Management District has proposed new District (District) has approved a ninety (90) day permit amnesty period, beginning on August 1, 2010, and extending through October 29, 2010, to allow sources to apply for any required air quality permit(s) without incurring enforcement action or penalties. After the amnesty period expires, the District will resume enforcement practices and pursue penalties for sources failing to obtain the required permit(s). July 28, 2010 - NOTICE: The Butte County Air Quality Management District has proposed new District Rule 433, Rice Straw Emission Reduction Credits, which sets forth a program to ensure federal recognition of ERCs generated from rice straw burning reductions. The proposed new rule sets forth the procedures for applications, evaluations, and issuance for rice straw reduction burning ERCs. The rule is based on the Model Rule and process developed by the Sacramento Federal Nonattainment Area air districts and documented in the White Paper. The adoption hearing will be held at the Chico City Council Chambers, 421 Main Street in Chico, CA. A public workshop will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at the District Office, 2525 Dominic Drive, Suite J, Chico, CA.
