Clean Air Funds

The Butte County Air Quality Management District (District) has two funding programs available: AB 2766 (DMV) for funding mobile source emission reduction projects; and Special Clean Air Funds which seek to fund programs which help achieve District air quality planning goals. The District Governing Board determines each year through the budget process how much funding will be available through the Clean Air Funds Program.

DMV projects must fit into one of the following eligible categories: Clean Fuels Infrastructure/Vehicles; Alternative Transportation Programs; Transit Services; Public Education/Information. Special Clean Air Funds do not have specified established criteria other than the project must provide an air quality benefit.

Project proposals are ranked according to their air quality benefit, cost effectiveness, availability of matching funds, feasibility, and other desirable factors.

The Clean Air funds for 2008-2009 fiscal year have been allocated to the Carl Moyer Program.  No additional funding has been identified to date.
